A good alternative in consulting a veterinarian in his clinic is to let him visit you at your home. Especially if you can hardly transport your pet or animal it might be the better choice. Sensitive pets are stressed and frightened by being transported by car and stressed pets are hard to examine and to treat.

Of course some treatments need the interior of a veterinary clinic e.g. surgery.

German veterinary surgeons have to be paid by the 'Gebührenordnung für Tierärzte (GOT)'. Additionally to the costs of the treatment the distance of a visit has to be paid.
